When submitting your cd for review, the more personal the better. Always research who you are contacting and make sure they review the kind of music you play. Contact the music writers or the feature editor directly for submission guidelines. Always follow up with email –be persistent but not annoying. You are more likely to get press in independent/alternative publications, don’t underestimate the power of college newspapers and off the beaten path zines.
